School Information

We have been educating young people in Corvallis, Oregon since 1963. Currently, we serve 363 students with 46 certified and classified staff members.

To create meaningful school experiences, Adams School provides weekly music, art and P.E. classes and programs including art exhibits, the Adams Choir. Pairing with our music, art and P.E. classes, we offer many extracurricular opportunities for students including the school garden club, elementary strings classes, Adams in Motion (AIM), Oregon Battle of the Books (OBOB), fifth grade mentor program, and crossing guards.

Peter Henning, Principal

Mr. Henning began his career in public education as a Teach for America high school special education teacher. During his career, he has taught reading intervention and social studies and served as an Intervention & Prevention Coordinator for five years.  He has eight years of experience in school leadership as an assistant principal and principal at the middle and elementary school levels. Most recently, he served as principal at SRU Elementary in East Smithfield, Pennsylvania.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Marywood University, a Master of Education in Social Science Education from Delta State University, and a Master of Education in Administration & Supervision from Old Dominion University.
